Alabama Film Incentive
Alabama Film Office On March 24, 2009 Former Governor Bob Riley signed into law the Entertainment Industry Incentive Act of 2009. A qualified production company shall be entitled to a 25% rebate of all state certified expenditures and 35% of all payroll paid to residents of Alabama for the state certified production. Production expenditures for a project must equal or exceed at least $500,000 but must not exceed $20,000,000.

Sidewalk Film Festival Since its debut in 1999, filmmakers from across the country and around the world have come to Birmingham to screen their work at Sidewalk and have been thrilled to discover fresh, enthusiastic crowds eager to devour new independent cinema.
The Birmingham International Educational Film Festival is a non-profit organization with a history of providing educational opportunities to students in Alabama and across the nation.
The George Lindsey UNA Film Festival is hosted each year by the University of North Alabama in Florence.
The South Alabama Film Festival seeks to showcase all varieties of films by, for or about the South and its people.
River City Film Festival - The festival celebrates and promotes film as art and education.
Local Film Communities
Yellowhammer Filmmakers of NE Alabama This is a group of creative filmmakers who meet to support each other in creative endeavors. Participation from the community is encouraged and welcomed. Meetings are the third Thursday of each month at the Peerless Bar and Grill, Anniston.
JSU Film Club. Under the direction of Jeffrey Nichols, this University club meets monthly to plan and execute creative film projects.
